I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Coil upgrades for my 79 750

Hey guys
Been browsing around but I figured I'd throw this one out there and see if I cant find a response. In the next couple of days I will be replacing my ingition system on my 79 750 from the Points to a Dyna S unit DS32. Now one of my coils was bad and am running a 550L coil just to get by. However I want to replace the coils completely with a matching set but was curious what to run? I'm not sure if I want to drop the money on dyna coils but was curious if coils from a newer bike (in ex. Bandit 600 or 1200, GSX-R1100 or 750, GSX 600 or 750 or 1100) would be an improvement of spark over the decades older GS coils. Used coils can be had for a decent price, I was just curious if this would be a viable option for upgrade. I plan on doing the relay power wire mod for the coils when I upgrade to the Dynatek to increase voltage for the coils, just want to know what to run other then my miss matched pair I have now.
Thanks for the help!

I'm using 1200 Bandit coils w/Dyna wires on my 80 gs1100. Only issue was the holes didn't line up & I needed to make up a bracket. Otherwise, any 3 ohm coil should work fine.

Awesome!
Thanks, I'd rather go with the 10 year old coils vs 30 year old coils. Thanks for the heads up!

You have to watch what you get, some newer ones are not 3 ohm, depending on the type of ignition system.
You can find dyna or other aftermarket coils on ebay some times.
