Compression Tester

I need to look into compression (78 GS750) but don't know which tool to use.

Z1 has a kit for $92

My local Auto Zone will rent one for a day.

Are the Sears/Auto Zone options viable for motorcycles?

I like Z1 Enterprises, but do I really need to spend 3x the dough on this item?

Any of them are fine, accuracy and precision are not important. What you want is to see that all the cylinders are within a broad range of "good", and more importantly that all of the cylinders are of similar compression. I have a HF $12 one that I use more often than the expensive Craftsman one, just because the hose length makes it easier to use. They both read exactly the same as close as I can tell.
What you need is one that comes with the correct adapter for you spark plug holes. Your 750 plugs are a very common size.
If you don't do it very often, I'd borrow the Autozone one.

Here's the one I bought one from Advance Auto a few yeras ago.

It comes with several adapters for all different plug sizes & threads.

Seems to work very well, gets used maybe once or twice a year.
