A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hi all ive been on this forum before and got the right answers
so can you tell me of the correct exhaust system for a gs550e 1980
my bike is fitted with a system with no balancer pipe but ive just found a set on ebay that were taken off a gs550e and they have a balancer pipe
i dont know if mine are correct because i got the bike with this system on it ie no balance pipe
i have had problems running the bike in the past, will this balancer make a deal of differance to the bike running correctly? I know suzukis are tempremental to exhaust alterations and wont run properly unless they have the stock parts fitted
my bike has always started missfireing above 6,000rpm could this be the pipes?
Regards roy

According to the parts fishe there should be a balance pipe. Info like this is quick and easy to look up using one of the various on-line parts fishe such as the one available here... http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm

The lack of balance pipe won't cause the problem you mention. If your bike has pods though, that would. A couple of other things that come to mind is the Ignitor could be bad or maybe the carbs are dirty. Not sure. If you would tell us more about the bike, such as the maintenance history, and when the problem started, it would help figure out the problem.

Good luck and welcome.:)
