DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Anybody here think this is 100% water tight? Nice and cozy in a deluge?

If so, I've been authorized to take bids on the Brooklyn Bridge.

Ok. I've had this bike for 4 years and last year decided to completely customize it front to back. To avoid a long story, it did not and is not going to get done. The good news for you is that all you have to do is put it back together and I guarantee no other bike will look like it. The green picture is what it looked like the first time I changed it all around with new paint, handlebars, saddlebags, exhaust, and sissy bar. What I was going for this next time was a 70's cruiser style. So I bought fenders that wrap around more of the tire and had them cut and welded to fit. And a bigger tank that we modified the frame a little so it would fit. I still have all the original pieces if you'd like. You'd just need to weld the little posts back on for the old tank to sit on. No big deal. The only mechanical issue is that one of the rods needs adjusted. It knocks slightly. It has never gotten any worse in the 2 years I rode it though. The bike started up every time with no problems and has a 6 speed transmission which is very handy for highway riding. The tires only have one season on them. I also have a full dark brown leather hide because we were going to make custom saddlebags and re-wrap the seat. I paid $200 for it but will let it go for half that. The included pictures are a sort of mock up of what the fenders and seat would look like on it.

Brand new things I bought for it:
Bullet style turn signals
Tombstone taillight
Handlebar controls
Gear selector arm
Rear brake pedal
Header pipes
and honestly probably a couple other things I've forgotten by now

I always took very good care of this bike with oil changes and maintenance. I am willing to negotiate the price. Any questions at all feel free to ask. Thanks for looking.

Only asking $500? Underachiver. Almost makes it worthwhile to save it from Maron.

Are those bikes ohc or ohv? If its ohv, at least see if the rockers are adjusted?

If its connecting rods, yeah...sign me up. I'd love a set of adjustable connecting rods.

Front fender's not big enough.

If the first green pic is the before, he could have gotten more for it if he never touched it.

That's that well-known Honda rod-knock adjusting screw. Fitted to every Honda, that is.

Heh. That is the... "fun" thing about dealing with Craigslisters. Its as likely that its just the valves or cam tensioner out of spec as it is "a rod". Its sort of like playing the lotto you never know what you're going to get (but you're probably going to lose).

Oh, i've bought trucks that people "got the transfer case stuck in 4lo". I buy them, put them in neutral and pop them into 2wd and drive home.

Knowledge is power!

Strategically placing the clutch lever over the hole in the side of the gas tank was a nice touch...
