A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

That poor, poor bike. How can it be "unmolested" if dogs attached it and ate the seat? Seems more like "pre-molested." As in...don't worry about having to molest this bike, it has been pre-molested by my mom's dogs!

Not a bad price for a "seemingly" whole parts bike. I could use the engine, and would likely make him an offer if it wasn't so damn far away...

Think they just did one model year then dropped it.

79 was the only year for an 8-valve 750L. The 16-valve 750L was imported into the US in both 80 and 81. They didn't offer it in 82, as I suspect the 650GL, 850GL, and 1100GL models filled the market need for their cruisers. I would not necessarily consider it rare.

Well, I know the guy and could pick it up cheap, as if 200 isn't already cheap. It is in ridiculously poor shape though but he said the engine turns.

Edit: that bike sold

$2,500 - That seat is horrible

I just got it back from the shop. It runs great. All the lights work. It does have some cosmetic issues:

The kick starter snapped off pretty much a week after I got it. It has an electric starter that works great.

There is a dent in the gas tank.

None of the electronics work other than the starter and the lights.

The rectifier has snapped off but is being suspended by metal wire.

The biggest problem is that neither the tachometer nor the speedometer gauge work. The bike tops out at about 60 mph anyway so you're probably not going be going much faster than 50 mph.

^^^Is it just me, or does the back of the seat look like a butt hole?
As he wrote; “It does have some cosmetic issues”.
Guy must be helpless for mechanical problems, had to pay somebody to do this bolt on fix?; “The mechanic just replaced the front brake cable”.
