A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What a lot of clowns also do is resurrect a sportbike from a wreck then call it a street fighter. The fairing fitted headlight is replaced with something from a salvage yard because the bodywork was trashed, cheap itty bitty turn signals are slapped on, and the exhaust can, among other parts, is frankensteined from something else. Then comes the rattle cans. I guess it's O.K. if someone does this merely as a means to have something unique to ride, but the intent to build and sell one of these things is squirrelly.

If you crash a sport bike, that's about all you can do to it. It's not economically feasible to buy or even fix the plastic.

Reminds me of a slightly related story. My buddy owns a motorcycle salvage shop. He had a KZ1300 Touring, you know that water-cooled six behomth. He couldn't sell it, nobody wanted it. So he said screw it, and pulled off all the touring crap off of it and made it a street fighter. Even adjusted the emblem that said "Touring" to say "urin." Bike was snapped up immediately!

have been on bikes for nearly 30 yrs now and never have seen a chain that hadnt snapped long before you were able to get the "TORE all the way back"..WTF??? That made me almost laugh outloud!!! wonder if he will pay me to reweld new teeth on the sprocket for him too?? LMAO!!!!!

Listed is an 1979 GS850 sport tuering motorcycle, it is a very comfortable bike. I am only seling it because I need a mode of transport emedietly and dont have the time to put it back to gether, cuerrently it is disasembled parshily but it is not a hard job, it just takes a litel time and pachents. In the end it would be the best bike for enybody. I have all the parts to put it back to gether and make it run like new! I am flexible with the price of $1200.00. Cash is prefured!

That listing makes me want to stab my eyes out and/or random things. Wow.

Not craiglist, but gotta be a serious contender... particularly the value for money:rolleyes:

I ran a quick currency exchange rate for this. He is asking the equvilant of $6749 US dollars for a 250 Honda engine in a hacked up Suzuki frame, with the typical flat black rattlecan paint job. If I am reading the ad correctly, he can't even verify if the motor even runs?!!?

This might be the worst value so far on this thread.

You dont understand. It is a ONE of a kind and he built it with his very own big honking hammer and hacksaw. :D

Some things are so ugly they are cute, you know, like buck toothed bulldog puppies, fat chicks, old Hondas.
Other things are just ugly.
This abortion of a bike is the latter.

Hmmm...says he's open for trades...I wonder...my $40,000 GK, and he'd pay me the difference...?

I have a $10,000 lawnmower I'd trade straight across, it doesn't run or anything, and the wheels are missing, no wait, on second thought I wouldn't trade.

I have noticed a pattern on the ads for these "customized" gems. Nearly all of the following rules apply to these CL ads:

a. It seems punctuation is completely unnecessary in the ad.
b. Silly things like engine displacement or mileage are not important to sell
the bike.
c. The bike must be mentioned as a "head turner".
d. Using a hacksaw requires labor, so that labor cost is included with
price of the bike. That is why these "bobbers" cost more than what
the bike is worth completely stock.
e. Flat black paint makes the bike "cooler"
f. Any rear suspension, though safer and far more comfortable, will
will actually make the bike less desirable, so it must be removed.

Stop! I am laughing too hard it hurts!
