DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

From Maine CL and I have to throw in pic of bike in his garage-
If he was closer, I'd be tempted to help- just to see rest of garage!

"Hello, i have for sale a 1985 suzuki gs 550 for sale. it is in good shape and runs good when the battery is charged. i dont know what is wrong with it but it will not charge, once the battery dies so does the bike. i believe it is an electrical problem but i have been unable to fix it. email with any questions"

I looked that ad up. That actually seems like a good price, assuming he has the seat and title, as he is only asking $400.

His wife will probably let you have it for $200- that way she gets her vacuum back! Mainers don't need titles after 15 years; makes for fun if you buy in Maine and attempt to register in another state that requires title.

As long as they sign over the registration in accordance with Maine laws, your state has to honor it.

It's pretty disassembled at this point. It was gutless, so I tore it apart thinking it was the piston rings. Those seem in spec, so now I'm thinking I should have checked the timing and a few other things first. Live and learn:) Everything on it is pretty new; just have to dial in what the problem is and you'll have a pretty sweet bike! I'm kind of just ready to move on, so I'm trying to sell it. I'll probably get around to fixing it eventually if it doesn't sell.

More like nightmare!! Oh and you "won't be riding this one home" why would I expect to ride it home at that great price?:p

It's not really for sale at that price, for those of you not familiar with some ebay tactics, if your a power seller or have multiple items, on ebay store, and a) you are either going to be away for a while, b) or run out of an item, you just crank up the price instead of ending an auction and having to re-list, then you just re-adjust the price afterwards. You will find hundreds of cases like this if you look, usually any where a seller has multiple sometimes in the thousands of items for sale.

Uhhh... No thanks.

Uhhh... No thanks.

"Nasty Habits " is a modified 1983 Suzuki GS1100. It starts and runs, but the floats are sticking so it will need the carbs cleaned before going back on the road.Clean AZ Title, notorized and ready to go. Currant AZ tags and plates ( good till August) fresh oil and filter, new back tire, new battery, good brakes, good fork seals, Gas tank has been creamed , shaft driven AND it comes with a Suzuki repair, trouble shooting and maintince manuel. Again Bike starts right up and idles fine....sounds great (strong) just dumps gas out the air intake when you give it gas cause the floats and needles are gummed up and need cleaned. And when u do clean the carbs , you u will find out that this little GS1100 is as fast as a bat out of hell. 928-240-3787 ( just gas stains on the concrete under the bike not oil)

I got a chuckle out of this one.

http://akroncanton.craigslist.org/mcy/2962993073.html

It's a brief ad, with two lines dedicated to the paint job, and only one line with any info about the bike. Even then all you get is the year and milage, no make, no model, no condition, no maintenance, no nothing.

On top of it all, with an ad that centers around the paint job, how about some in-focus pictures of that bad-as bike????

He should have said: "I had this nice bike, ruined it and now it is worth more."

Crazy crap that people do to these bikes.
