A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

How customized is your bike?

Frank Davis at Powerhouse Motorcycles in West Babylon on Long Island is a master builder/tuner/racer. Very experienced with four cylinder bikes, from '70's air cooled to the present day. He's the only one I let touch my Suzi.

A full custom exhaust system will cost many hundreds of dollars. You might want to keep your eye's peeled on ebay for something nice but cheaper. As long as it's not all bashed up you can always send a used system for blasting and ceramic coating.

i keep looking on ebay but sometimes i dont know if i trust that they know what they are talking about as far as fitment

The reason I asked about customization is because there should be a plethora of aftermarket systems that should bolt right up to your bike. One of the more common, and perhaps better, is the V&H Street Megaphone.

Why were you looking for a custom exhaust?

i called a few manufactures mac, delkevic and marving the 83 gs750 es seems to be a problem its only made 1 year but i think the vance and hines does work. the exhaust for the e and es are the same . just not a fan of the mega phone look

I hear you. The first time I saw my bike (Oct '13), the exhaust looked too short. In my day, ('70's and '80's), 4-into-1's ended behind, not in front of, the rear axle. Kerker was the predominant style. I eventually switched to the V&H "SS" system, which resembles a modern 'canister' style. This is before I bolted the "SS" on:

I can personally recommend Motogpwerks. I have one on my old es and I love it. They are here in California, but he sells on eBay

The V&H "Street Megaphone" that was on my bike when I bought it needed repacking, according to the PO. I disagreed. It's a 'straight through' system and it sounded great.

The V&H "SS" canister I installed is not straight through and sounds a little tinnier. It's still sounds good, just not as beefy as the Street Megaphone.

With either V&H muffler you can get the street or competition baffle.... the competition baffle being a straight through design. I recently repacked my SS canister with the comp baffle..... I wouldn’t say it’s much quieter, if quieter at all.... but it sounds more full and not as tinny.
There aren’t many of the canister type out there, unfortunately; but the megaphones are fairly easy to come across and they work.
