A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I've got a intermittent cutting out problem on my GS400. Originally, I thought it was due to a vacuum building on the gas tank, but I have ruled that out. It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, it happens at 65-80 mph. I drove 50 miles north, and it cut out above 65 mph. However, on the way home, I was doing 80 easy, with no cutting out at all. What do you all think it might be?

I suggest fuel starvation. I have that problem on my 450. Fuel hose is too restrictive for the juice to get to the carbs.

When it was going fine at 80, was the wind to your back? and when it was happening at 65, was the wind to your face?

I find that my fuel supply can't keep up with 3/4 to full throttle. If I jeep it there I will run intoo starvation.

ya know, I don't remember. I know the fuel flow is fine out of the shut off valve. There has got to be some way to get more gas into that carb!

First, though, do your symptoms seem like fuel starvation or is that not it?

If it is fuel starvation, Doing the Pingel upgrade will definitely provide plenty of flow. I've drained gas from my 450 petcock before. Painfully slow. But it comes absolutely gushing out of my 1100's Pingel. And that's using only one of the double ports!!!

Reset/recheck float height?

Dm of mD

I do think its starvation. I'm a little hesitant to reset float height, because that means I'm gonna have to take that sucker apart. But I guess I might have to anyways :(

Float height is easy. You do have to take the carbs off though and that's a pain.
