DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Deedee got her bike!

A short little update.

Figured out that Deedee's problem with launching Toph was an over adjusted throttle cable. I put a little slack in it and *POOF* the bike was all puppies and kittens. Dee looked at me and said "I told you so!"................................(again).:p

on a more personal note:

We found out we are having a boy:dancing: (I had to brag, now I get to do all the stuff my brother does with my nephew.)

My wife just gripes at me for spending so much time with the bike, yours is rebuilding stuff? Want to trade?

'cause my autistic stepdaughter hid the good camera..)

I have an autistic girl too, she wants a VW Mirco bus or a CBR900, either of which may kill her, still believes trees are used to stop vehicles. While it is true a tree is an impairment to forward movement the vehicle also sort of requires repairs after use at speed.

Families are keepers, good luck on the repairs.
Bill

Perhaps it's time for a little patient instruction on the difference between braking and "barking"?

Kawasaki specified 5w-20 engine oil.

i had a kz400 as my first bike. they were designed to be repaiable on the side of the road.with basically what you found on the side of the road. an excellent first scoot to ride and to learn maintenance on

Yep! they were designed for serviceability. The forks were a breeze and everything else has been gravy. (minus the broken stator cover bolt I still need to replace.)

The carbs are coming off of Toph and Suki this week and getting ultrasonically cleaned. I thought ahead and ordered the parts before we went into the hospital.

Oh by the way....WE HAD THE BABY! Dee and PJ are doing well and have been home for a few days. She's already telling PJ that he can't have Toph...lol! If I can pry my self away from mini-me (he's sooo tiny!) , I may get the carbs off this week.

congrats. i have a little boy and another boy on the way. will already has his own motorcycle (kz650) and soon enough so will jameson. its amazing how fast they grow up so take "losh o pictures"

Congrats,
And never mind what the neighbors say. It's ok to feed the baby with one hand while wrenching the bike with the other one. :D:D

Is it a coincidence that all your bikes are named after "Avatar: The Last Airbender" characters?

I say it?s time for a roadtrip. How about central america just two of you

We're not nearly as daring as you Chris. If I really want to ride outside of the country, I'll head to the Domenican. I have family that can set me up with wheels and lodging. Either way, I'll need to put both bikes back together first. (Got the carbs apart for cleaning.)

Plus PJ hasn't learned to ride yet:D.

Well, what you waiting for? Isn't that little one home yet? Come on now, it's almost spring time and the time's awastin...:D

I've been tempted to take him into the basement while I work on the carbs:D, but the gas fumes made me nervous.:o

As soon as he can hold his head up I'll put him on the bike and see what he does...lol:rolleyes:

Well Deedee and I got together and learned how to reassemble Keihin carbs today. :D I had a hell of a time remembering what went where. (I took them apart last week.)

She got peeved at me when she had to dip her finger in engine oil to lubricate the o-rings. either way, she did one and I did the other.

So, she has now :
  • flushed her front brake
  • Rebuilt her starter
  • rebuilt her carburetor
I still wish I could get her to pay as much attention to her car.

Do you mean the Domincan Republic?! I wouldn't drive a car there! I was in Santo Domingo in 1999 and would close my eyes as we drove through the city (I was a passenger : ). It is one huge game of chicken there and most of those drivers are NOT chicken. Of course, by the end of the week I was riding in the back of the pick up without a care in the world. But I still wouldn't drive there. Oh, and make sure your horn works because everybody lays on the horn. The intersections are horrendous--the stop lights mostly don't work and that is where the game of chicken comes in big time.

I don't think the country roads are any safer, though less crowded. You know how we complain about traffic laws (and building codes for that matter). Go to a place like the DR and you know why such things are in place.

Keep the bike in the USA. We want you to stay healthy longer. I'm just sayin'...

i drove once there, blew past a cop doing three times the posted limit. I waved with a cheesey grin.

He just waved back!

You're absolutely correct, traffic laws there "be more like guidlines":p But hey,I've got connections.

And I'd leave the bikes here. My family should be able to hook me up with a bike if I want one

I got Deedee's carbs back together last Sunday. That little bike is zippy! She's really wanting to get back out there. I can't wait for dry weather.
