    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi guys, just wanted to share something I did a little while ago.
Because I didn't have the original tools that came with the bike I decided to buy some cheap ones and make myself a toolkit and pouch out of the leftover faux leather from the seat retrim.

I was gonna make my mom sow it but it turned out my girlfriend had a sowingmachine. So I decided to tackle it myself and after a few testrounds on scrap pieces I just made pouch, didn't measure or anything as it was just for practice but it fitted all my tools AND fitted perfectly besides the battery :)

I fitted a button and extended the "lid" so I could use it for something. It now holds my spark plug pipe and a "leatherman" type multi tool.

I then decided to go ahead with the original plan, a roll up type which you find in newer type bikes... Here's how it turned out:

rolled away it fits perfectly besides the battery, the pouch is put away in the rear fairing.

So now I can go away without worrying about minor brake downs and as I now have tools I could actually adjust my rear springs, soft and smooth now :dancing:
 
Oh, and the 24,19,17 and 14mm wrenches had to be cut to fit lengthwise, but thats why I bought the cheap tools...
 
I had to laff when I read this post because of the timing. I, literally, brought my taped-together OEM tool kit in to make a new one about 5 min. before reading this. THANKS for the ideas!

That's a nice custom tool bag. Looks like I have a new sewing project for the girlfriend. :-$
 
Nice man looks like you have the bases covered. Probably cost less than buying an OEM kit and the tools you have are better than the OEM tools.

I agree, I found my OEM tool kit when I took my bike apart, it was not this nice... Great Job - :)
 
I gave up trying to find an OEM toolkit, so I just took the list that's in the user manual and bought me some cheap tools. The ones that where too long I cut with a grinder :P
