A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

thanks for the 22lbs in the tire advice but no thanks the bike blitzed the tire 100 plus feet lol it was sure fun but not productive I set the tire to 15 lbs and it spun again then down to 10lbs then a slight spin at 85hun out of the hole and a wheel stand for 60 feet six inches high. the bright side no shifting eras i will be leaning the jets next weekend two sizes to try to bring up my MPH I fattened them up last fall when the temperature was in the 50's at night

thanks ant

There was NO hostility! I like to race! I'll race ANYONE that feels up to it! I just know that when someone removes their wheelie bars they are going to be LESS consistent & I want their money! Don't refer to them as "training" wheels & you won't get called out by me. Want to race? My bike only has a street motor in it, with STOCK cams! Ray.
P.S. I'm 49 & have been doing this for more than 30 years & am here to meet other GS people & have fun too! Want to race?

I dont know about that Ray my GS1150 with no bar and a street tire 62'' w/b will run the same # every pass unless the temp or humidty changes.
Oh did I mention that I use a slider on it. It is deadly consistant

back in business

back in business

last night was the best 1/8 i have run with this bike shifted like butter - I took the velocity stacks off and went from a 150 to a 140 main jet. during the heat of the day the bike was running 6.50's all day then the coolness of the night when the humidity went away the bike did a 6.37 at 106.6 MPH so this is telling me to go with a 138.5 main jet and try it when its hot out

ant

COOL!!! You found out the bike was too rich & went quicker! The velocity stacks will help the airflow & I would stick with those. Ray.

hey ray what are the best cams i could use in a 85-1150 with a timing advance r pipe and jet kit ?

thanks ant

I like the Cam Motion G4s the best on a bike that is close to stock. I have some too if you are interested. Ray.

hey ray

what is the total price and what is involved in putting these in ? Do i need to degree them in slotted sprockets better valve springs, grind the bumps on the arms or valve cover ect .

thanks ant

The cams for $400.00, they are NEW. Slotted cam sprockets for $35.00, yes you need to grind the bumps off the rockers, yes on better valve springs because you WILL be running it harder!, & you will need to degree the cams to get the best performance. Call me at 714-356-7845 if you have questions or want help. Ray.

hey ray

I was talking with my dad and he wants me to go with
the NOS for now he said more bang for the buck and he also said
when the motor gets tired we will do a big head and bigger cams

thanks anyway ant

If you are going to run squeeze, make SURE of a few things!
1. Have a GOOD, undercut trans because if not you will see it immediately!
2. Have an adjustable rev limiter! If not the above will tell you why!
3. RETARD THE TIMING!!!
4. RETARD THE TIMING!!!
5. RETARD THE TIMING!!!
6. Ask Chef for pics of what happens with too much timing!
Good luck, if is fun stuff! I hope you have a wheelie bar?! Are you going to put a progressive timer on it, a wide open throttle switch, or just a push button?
Ray.
