I needed a rear tire for my GS1000 and found this EBay seller, cyclewarehouse selling a NEW PIRELLI 130-90-17 TIRE SPORT BIKE HONDA SUZUKI CBR (#120314307888). I bid on the tire and later contacted the seller and found out they purchased the Pirelli Phantom tire from a dealership which closed down. Pirelli Phantoms have been made in the 130/90-17 size since the late 1980's or 1990's When I found out the tire wasn't new but rather a NOS tire; I asked the seller to retract my bid two days before the auction expired. He stated he could not (untrue). The next I finally figured it out how to retract an EBay bid, I did so before the auction ended. I received a reply from cyclewarehouse that the my bid couldn't be retracted within 12 hours of the end of auction? They than proceeded to send me an invoice which I didn't pay for.
Cyclewarehouse than opened a Ebay unpaid dispute with me which resulted in Unpaid Item Strike against my account. I guess EBay does not read the details or understand the safety ramifications of purchasing a old cycle.
What's your independent opinion, I think they clearly misrepresented the tire and were unscrupulous.
Thanks,
Steve

Did you keep any of the correspondence sent asking the guy to retract the bid? I am not all that familiar with the recommended process to retract a bid but it seems that E-Bay isn't going along with your story. Since I only have your word and what E-bay is showing me, at this point, he can't be listed as a deadbeat. If something changes, let me know.

Yes, I kept my e-mail requests to retract the bid. The seller though deleted his responses which removed them from my EBay Inbox. EBay stated they won't look at e-mails for privacy reasons.
