As you know, the engine for the KZ 650B1 project was severely corroded. I was looking up info and ran across this guys video and thought it was worth a try. Bought some Marvels and new scotchbrite pads and went to town. Used hemostats and small squares to reach into the tight places.
It doesnt shine the metal or remove the greyish deep stains but I can tell you it wipes the scale off with just a little elbow grease. Take it to bare clean metal quite easily. I cleaned the entire lower end of the engine in just under 3 1/2 hrs. Next step will be a scrubbing with some degreaser and power wash the engine down. Then its ready for paint. This is the starting point if you hadnt seen the pictures in the other thread. And the guys video....watch the advertisement at the beginning as well. The Spectrachrome looks awesome.
