A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I know you need a test meter and it hooked up to the bike but this thing looks like it hasn't been charred and cracked by high heat.

You guys that run risks on electrical bits on ebay does it look worth the anxiety?

Jeep, it looks to be an aftermarket stator. if it's cheap enough, it might be worth the try.

what bike do you need the stator for?

I've bought 3 off ebay- yours looks marvelous! less than $20 bucks, it's worth a chance. Besides it would at least make an impressive paperweight!

gs550 1985 its clearly indicated in my location now.
I must get computer skills.

Not sure if I need a sataor mine looks black and nasty with cracks in the insulation. So its a matter of time.

I have major issues with low compression and an apparent coil failure now so I probably should prioritize.

Looks like aftermarket, judging by the 3 Yellow wires.
(I believe all factory stators had Stripped/multi-color wires, not 3 solid yellows)

It's probably not a eBay stator, because you have exactly 3 holes.
Most eBay/cheap stators have like 6 or 9 holes, because it's a generic stator
and bolts up to many makes and models.
(but I guess there's quite a few people who make em....)

How cheap you getting this for???

Look at some Kawasaki KZ stators. They do fit and they always look brand new.
Plus they are CHEAP!
I have run one for a few years and it works a treat!

Yeah, I scooped one off 84 kz700 dirt cheap and it looks and checks ok! you just have to lengthen wires.

Its OEM the wires on mine are yellow and the connectors are identical.
The guy wants 53.99 so I can wait till it makes its way back on again. I never buy in desperation so I like to look into these sorts of offers to be ready for future breakdowns.

Me, I just like to have spares to scare off breakdowns. $55 is ridiculous- for 100 bucks you can get new ones with warranty!
