DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Electric Tach On a 82/83 GS1100ez

Is there an electric tachometer that can be fitted into an 82/83 gauge cluster... or is it very hard to modify a GS1150 gauge cluster to work on my 82 GS1100EZ? Im gathering parts to swap heads to an 1150 head that, of course, doesn't have any tach drive.

I do have a GS1150 gauge set and wiring harness if that would be easier to mod to work.

Thanks!

fwiw, i fitted a gsxr gauge set to my 1100 es, mech speedo and electronic tach, required some massaging of the wiring and a bracket that i fabbed up, but pretty easy and looks like it belongs.

That's a good idea too. I haven't really set the gs1150 gauges next to my gs1100 gauges to see how close the wiring is.
Honestly, most of the "information/warning lights" on my gs cluster I could do without anyhow. I like the turn signal, high beam, gear indicator, and maybe the kickstand warning light.

I'm running a Trail Tech Vapor computer on my 1100E. Took some fiddling to get the tach working properly but now that I have it there it is working very well. You can get a small additional 'dashboard' that goes around the Vapor body and has indicator lights for turn signals, high beam, low oil pressure and neutral. I used the handlebar mount for this year while testing it and making sure everything works as expected. I plan to take the OEM gauge cluster off this winter and permanently mount the Vapor in its place for next season.
