I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Emgo shocks good or garbage?

My Beast has KONIs, but they are pretty blown out. ( I know I could rebuild them )

Parts bike has low mileage Emgo shocks... but can't test ride it to find difference.

Thoughts?

Even at the same price, I'd take a pair of KONIs needing rebuild before new Emgo.
Had bad experience with them on my bike. The went from looking OK when I got it to totally shot in a few months.
Bushes fell apart as well as oil pumping out.
Only one sure way to tell and I'd be interested to hear how that turns out if and when you get a day to test it.

Bushings are garbage and very heavy springing, or maybe it's damping. Stiff to be sure. Basscliff did a writeup on fixing the bushings. The stiffness may not be an issue if you ride two up or heavily loaded in general. Not for lightweights though.

Definitely overdamped. Crude and harsh damping. Springs weren't horribly awful for me at 260 lb. The plastic bushings do not last, according to anyone who tried to use them.

That said, they will work while you rebuild the Konis. Just avoid the bumps to minimize hammering your bike.

If you have a rather enhanced gravitational attraction or always ride 2-up, the EMGOs will feel OK, but as others have said, will degrade relatively quickly. My son has a set on his 1000G and says they are OK, but we will be checking the condition of the bushings before too long.

I also have a set of Konis on my 850 that are in need of a rebuild. I have purchased the kit and the oil, just have been too busy working on other bikes to get my own bike "under the knife". It will happen before the rally next month, though.

The PO of my recently purchased 850GL was proud that he put EMGO shocks on the bike a year ago, I was disappointed to find out they were EMGO..... I replaced all the bushings, they were all blown out and the ride is like crap. I had to die the mount bolt due to the bushing blow out ruining the threads. I'm about 60lbs lighter than him as well. I will be purchasing a set of Hagon shocks for her in the future.

EMGO shocks are crap.

No, they actually ride like **** from day one no matter how heavy you are.
