    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

So i've installed my new Clutch Push lever, Haven't adjusted it yet, but my bike was put in neutral before I removed it. So I started my bike up, used a little choke, ran it for a minute or two, revved it up a little, and noticed a thin white smoke coming from below the bike. I shut it off and got down to check out what it was. Seems to be coming from the bottom of the engine, maybe from the exhaust pipes. Is this something I should be worries about? I had an oil spill that got a little messy, so it just oil smoldering from the heat of the exhuast pipes/engine?
 
Probably a spill of oil.

Let it cool down and give it a good wash and hose and clean any surplus oil away.
 
Alright, thanks. I think it's pretty much gone now. Wiped it down, and ran it for a bit. But now i've got a new problem. Clutch aint working properly.

Can't stop rear wheel with 2 fingers with clutch pulled in first.

First and 3rd don't appear on the indicator.

It's Going from 1st to 2nd skipping neutral, but neutral is easily access from above. (going from second.)

And sometimes it's slipping into 4th from 3rd... or what I think is third.. it's not appearing on the indicator. Maybe its just goign right into 3rd, and it's lingering right above it. So when I rev it, it just jumps to the closest gear, which in this case is 4th.

Maybe this belongs in a new thread... We'll see.
 
id get it nice and warm and see if there's any drops forming down there.
 
The clutch is going to drag a bit even when pulled in. It won't be noticed when the machine is running and the rear tire is on the ground. At least with mine, when it is on the center stand in neutral you can't turn the rear wheel by hand when it is in gear with the clutch pulled in. I would set it on the ground, start it and see what happens while it's running. You did readjust the cable I assume.
 
I'm having a hard time adjusting it. I have read on many places that with the bike on the center stand, in first gear, with clutch pulled in, the bikes back wheel should move a little, but you should be able to stop it with 2 fingers.

I believe my adjustment is to tight at the momment. When in neutral, revving the engine causes the rear wheel to move... only a 1cm, if anything.. but in neutral its not suppose to move whatsoever.

Is this with the bike on the center stand? Just try it with the bike running, off the stand and the wheel on the ground. Did you ever notice it's sometimes hard to back your bike up when it's in gear and running with the clutch pulled in? The plates still make some contact and can drag some. Adjust the play in the cable correctly and take it for a ride.
