A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I got this jacket a few weeks ago and I've put on about 500 miles with it so far...since getting back to the State where the bike was last Wednesdat night.

The jacket is a standard "meshtile" summer jacket with zip out liner. It has armor on the forearm/elbow, shoulder and spine with padding over those areas plus the lower back. It also has heavy Cordura on the lower arms and upper back. Seems like it would provide decent protection in a spill...

Cell pocket and map pocket in the outer shell, two hand pockets. None in the liner.

Function is great. Without the liner it flows a LOT of air, I was a little cold on the highway at 65F.

Today was a little colder (55 or so) and I got to try out the liner. Man does it work! It has a "fleece" lining, thinsulate and a waterproof, breathable outer layer. It also has a full length velcro wind flap over the zipper and an adjustable neck. Stopped the wind perfectly, I'd say with more than a tee shirt under it I could ride with this setup down into the upper 40's all day. You can also wear the liner by itself (around camp or something) and it just looks like a black windbreaker.

Downsides. Not many. The liner zips in at the front on both sides and is anchored to the sleeve ends and neck with a single "button loop" at each location, the overall fit is great but I find that I have to hold each sleeve as I pull my arm out or the liner wants to come with my hand...the liner has an elastic closure at the wrist.
The velcro wind flap can be a minor pain, it tends to stick to itself or the fleece liner when you are trying to zip up but its just something to get used to....like the snaps on the sleeves.

I had to get a XXXL for the chest size and the sleeves are a LITTLE long for me, or maybe its just the arm armor pocket placement. I had to safety pin the sleeve armor pocket to the top of the cordura and the armor to the top of the pocket to keep it in the right place for me. SEEMS like it'll stay in place long enough for me to have much bigger things to worry about if it doesn't.

I paid about $118 from motorcyclesuperstore.com for mine and I'm very happy with it.
