A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Finally got around to upgrading my horns!

And I like it...

I've had a set of FIAMMs hanging on the garage wall for almost a year and finally put them on...
One high note, one low...plus a relay and a fused wire...bingo! Much louder...
Nice thing is the '83 1100E frame has a couple of mount points on the outside front of the frame...
I used those and I like the location better than up front...

Don't much care for the silver bracket, but I can fix that later...

Nice. Once you get those brackets blacked out, it will look like it those horns were supposed to be there.

I had a set of FIAMMs on my GPz, they are very loud. They don't disappoint.

Those are nice horns for sure. My bike came with a horn relay and a set of older, long-seized FIAMM horns already installed, so I just went to advance auto and picked up a set of new ones for 25 bucks, swapped them, and was annoying the neighbors in minutes! :D

Those outside frame mounts on the 83s (and if you look there are two more up near the stearing head) are where the "ES" fairing would have bolted to if you were AWESOME enough to have an ES :p

Just kidding Bob, your bike is looking great! Wish I had had the chance to ride with you guys at BC.. wasnt a good weekend for us. Nerves, despite how much I wanted to deny it, were a little frazzled to say the least. Oh well, You comin down for RRR??

Hehehe...............

Anybody wanna take a guess?

I'll give you a hint......they're not the imitation ones either....:D

Sadly no...
This falls right as we are expanding at work and my department is one of the ones moving to a new building...
I don't expect to get any time off during July or August...

I put a pair of High/Low horns on my 850 that I bought from Canadian Tire. 130db, EVERYBODY hears me now. Very nice upgrade and they look virtually stock.

Louder Horn

Louder Horn

loud horns are cool

They are a must, along with a bright headlight during the daytime! I just found a set of uh-hum, Yamaha - cough-cough, Seca 750 horns on eBay for about 23.00. They are small AND loud! My GS550L horn is toast - not to mention wimpy!
I put a set of these in place of the standard cheesy horn on a 1987 Yammy FZR750 and I dared anyone to pull out in front of me! It had real brakes though :D

Josh
Funny how use ED guys get to use your ESD mounts for horns and steering dampers and such and you ESD guys dont :p.
