    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • In order to help others find info on a particular bike, be sure to put the year, make or model of bike that you are asking a question about, in the Topic Title. This will allow people to pass by posts they have no interest in.

Finally got me a new project bike!

So, since I basically finished up the baby kat engine conversion, I've been perusing CL's and dreaming about getting a new project. But alas, school costs have been eating a huge hole in the budget if you know what I mean. :( But, my luck was about to change thanks to my ever loving wife. For Christmas, she pumped up my moto budget whoo hoo! It wasn't a lot, but enough that I think I could at least get something started :D

So, I knew I wanted to do something different than a resto. Something like a cafe, or brat or something. And I knew I wanted a twin. And so the search began...

I looked at GS450's, 500's, rd400's but everything I looked at was just a bit too much or completely clapped out or missing a title.

But again, my luck was about to change ;)

I ran across an ad where a guy was selling his half started XS650 project. It had already been stripped, the frame detabbed, the frame modified with a brat kit, new single seat, frame powder coated, a new tank, bars, and tires and both mags and spoked wheels. And the engine, although I could not hear it run, has only 12K on it. And I managed to get it all for 900 bucks! :D:D

I'm so pumped. I can't wait to get this one rolling. As always, I will rely on you guys for some help along the way. You guys are the best out there I don't care what kind of bike it is.
