hello again venerable forum members. trust everyone is enjoying their summer and putting lots of miles on their trusty GS'S! as the title would suggest, i have an annoying flat spot when i try to twist the throttle hard coming out of a corner or leaving a stoplight. i've modified my riding style to compensate, but it does get annoying at times. at all speeds above a jog it pulls like a freight train, especially at high (70 MPH+) speed and i have absolutely no complaints about it's( 1980 GS750E) road manners. i've set the floats as per spec, set the valve clearances and synched the carbs with my mercury sticks. the only fly in the ointment is that i'm using an airfilter box from a gs1000 and guessing at the number of openings required to give best performance. and again, at any speed past 10 mph it performs very well indeed. any thoughts? oh, and one more thing. it won't redline, it usually peters off around 8500 rpm ( redline is 9500 rpm)
