So the last two early 80's GS liter bikes I've bought here in Denver had the float heights set way high, 26-27mm from gasket surface to flat on float.
The bowls were carrying very little fuel in them.
During the carb rebuilds I set them back to the 22-23mm range and the bikes run awesome.
Any idea why shops would set them so lean for Colorado? Personally I've seen no effect on performance of a CV carb in Denver, above 8,000', yes, you can feel it.
I'm just curious...
