A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I put low cafe type bars on my 78 1000e and i want to raise and push back the position of my foot pegs. In my manual they recommend honda 305 super hawk pegs. Has anyone done this mod? does anyone know how to get them? and does "honda 305 super hawk" refer to the part, or the bike that they are on?
Do you have any other suggestions

All I can tell you on this is that Honda 305 SuperHawk is a bike - a very cool bike called a CB77 that was built from abou '64 to '68. You may have a hard time finding those pegs.

A company called Disco Volante has rearsets for GSs (including yours) that were reasonably priced - probably around $200. Their website is under construction right now, but there's a contact link. Raask makes some that are expensive. Billy Ricks, among others has adapted GSXR rearsets to his GS.

I've considered it for awhile too - my GS1100E has low bars and rearsets would round it out for comfort for me.

A mate of mine has a CB77, the footpegs mount on neat ally plates with two sets of mounting points, so you can choose the footpeg position and they have rose-jointed gear and brake lever, so I suppose that why they suggested them, but as Bert says they'll be as rare as rocking horse sh*t.

RAASK or Tarocci (as sold by Disco Volante) make rearsets, but they'll set you back about 100 GBP over here.

Tony.

Different mounting points on the frame, but the S model
are somewhat rearset.
Not radical pretzel rearset, but up and back.
This will also involve changing the shift linkage and brake pedal.
You may need to adapt or change the rod going from the brake pedal to the fluid resevoir.

Do these companies supply "all" the parts needed?
