This has been mentioned sporadically throughout the board but I decided to make a post with a clear picture.
When you disassemble your VM carburetors for cleaning, PAY ATTENTION TO THE ORIENTATION OF THE CHOKE/STARTER LEVER. The large part of the lobe (see photo) should face DOWN. This allows the choke plungers to fully close when the choke lever is pushed down. If the position is reversed, the choke plunger for the carb in question will remain slightly open.
