If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

any body know any good fork braces for an 83 gs850? it looks like the front fender is in the way, so it would have to curve a bit.

I don't know if this will help you at all, but when I purchased a fender off ebay, it came with a front fork brace that sits under the fender.
You can see it on this picture. At the moment I'm using just the brace and not the fender.

Maybe your model has the same option?

Just a thought

fork brace

I have an old telefix fork brace on my thou. Nice piece, thick cast aluminum. Allows use of stock fender. These are cream of the crop for the old GS's. They turn up on ebay from time to time but be prepared to fight for it.

They are few and far between, but do come up on ebay. Measure and know your fork diameter and distance of the forks center to center. Alot of times a brace will come up and the seller won't know what bike it's for, but will give some measurements.

Telefix still shows one for the 1000, but I'm not sure if yours is the same. Plus the guy in England is a richard head to deal with. I found a Daytona brace for mine. It almost fit over the stock fender, but had to slot the fender holes about 1/4":

Hey Bruce, that brace looks to mount to the forks rather than the ones you see that mount where the fender mounts are (which i dont have fender mounts anymore) Where did you find that as i am looking for one that mounts that way, and what diameter are your forks?

Thanks!
TCK

I had thought telefix products where made in germany :? do you have link for a uk distributor ? as i may be able to help with shipping small numbers to the us if needed :-D

Dibs!! of course if you dont want it RB..

That guys sells those all the time, so if this one disappears, just wait around. There will be another. I'm currently using an NOS Daytona forkbrace. Looks nice, but I stole it off one of my other vintage bikes and it is not an exact fit (so, it kinda defeats the purpose). Considered buying one of these off eBay, but $99+shipping seems a bit rich to me.

Really? Where? I may have it posted out there somewhere. Everything is for sale for the right price or up for trade for the right deal. I'd consider parting ways with it if the right deal came along, but I'm not necessarily looking to part with it. Hehe... I don't recall having it anywhere though.

Cant remember where this one came from but its been on my bike for years. I took it off when I did the forks. It never did much as the center support was not wide enough to fully reach the 4 allan screws. Its pushed together in this picture.

Pretty simple. Its really only 3 pieces as the fork clamps are both the same. Uses your original fork boots. Slide up the boot, clamp it on and slide the boot back down.

Anyone out there CNC savvy enough to try and copy it ?
