A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Has any one used a fork brace from Fast From the Past? I need one for a 82 1100E and the listing is for a 82-84 gsx1100 european spec. I am assuming the forks are the same and It would work.

It's the same bike, give or take a few styling differences, so it'll fit fine.

Never tried one of theirs though.

edit: I see it's a Tarozzi - they're a good design.

I'm always looking to spend money on my 82 1100E, so I'm curious about what problem you're addressing, or what differences/improvements you expect to see with the installation of fork braces.

Thanks.

One of the best bangs you can get for your bucks Rob. Tightens the front end right up and you lose the twisting effect and twitch when you hit a bump while leaned over, especially on long sweeping (and fast) bends.

Another EZ in MN ! That makes three I know of. That is quite the stable Mr.Limeex2. ZRex, Skunk, EZ and a ES ! Got any pics ?

My fork brace....

Bonanzadave, I have been trying load pictures but I am seriously computer challenged. The 1100E I am working on now is like my ex-racebike,which was a former 1000S turned into a franken roadracer.Been sitting in the garage since '83 after I put a rod through the crankcase. Was going to sell it along with a ton of spares and one of stuff. Just couldnt see some squid on ebay getting cool stuff! Found this forum and have been getting advise and more parts to upgrade the 1100E. The ZRX is next. What I learn from this build, I will duplicate or improve on the 1100ES build. If I dont pass away before getting all this done,I may try resurrecting the 1000S.I have most of the good stuff....
To answer to why I need fork brace,I am trying to remove what feels like a hinge that is in the middle of the bike.

I got the same hinge ! Tried most everything. Fork braced helped marginally. I would look into some GSX-R forks....or just SLOW down.

I have removed a lot of weight. Will also be bracing the frame like the old Yosh bikes plus a few more.Did it to the GS1000 and it helped a lot.

Forks Stabilizer

Forks Stabilizer

I've got one on my bike, I likes it!

I purchased one on your recommendation Bill. Made sure to use a HF digital caliper and gave the numbers to the gentleman taking my order. There's pics in one of my threads....

Ed

NOTE: I love my forks stabilizer!
