A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I would love to have forward controls on my 82 GS650L. Is there a kit available? I don't have the resources to fabricate my own at this point in time.

Thanks! Hope you're all getting your first rides of the season in too =)

This is too bad. Certainly doesn't seem like rocket science to convert a set of highway bars into forward controls; I figured there would be some kind of universal kit or something.

forward controls,,,,,

forward controls,,,,,

all thats needed for forward controls are linkage arms ,,which are made out of round bar with threads each end,, along with small universals on the ends .. ,,i.e. most bearing supplys have them.....you can get them off an existing bike,, such as an xv1100 yamaha cruiser.. or a KAW.. cruiser... lock up pag motorcycles... he makes chinese style choppers and forward controls hope this helpsstay away from harlwy unless you have a GOLD credit card regards david :):)

ditto that...
When a man who fabricates some might fine customs tells you that there's nothing out there, believe him.

I'm sure he has been through all the suppliers looking, so if he says there's nothing there, there's nothing there. :D

I'm puzzling over why this is in the "Performance Mods" forum.

Appearance or Technical, perhaps.

But forward controls are definitely not what I would consider a "Performance Mod", at least not for the bike (maybe for the rider...maybe).

Sorry.

I'm afraid you're most likely heading for custom-fabrication territory if you wish to pursue this. Not terribly difficult, but critically important to ensure that the linkage geometry is correct, and construction is safe and durable.

You beat me to it Ronin! I was just getting ready to post that I didn't see a lot of "Performance" in forward controls! LOL!! Ray.

ebay put in suzuki chopper or yamaha chopper or honda chopper --there is 1 company that has a generic set you can easilly put on your bike.
