    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

My guess was just that...and it still is. There are thousands of bikes, still running, that came with and are still using 630 chains. I would think the percentage of people who have changed to 530 would be forever impossible to come close guessing.... and it would be a samll minority.

On this website, we're different. We really care about these bikes and try to do what's best. In the 'real world', most people ride these bikes and replace parts when absolutely necessary with similar parts; they don't do anything special.:?

By the way, I've got 630 on both of my bikes...and they're great. I've also got a new one 'in the wings'.:-D

Well to each his own. I think Jeff (from Z1 who posted above) would have and does have a good idea on how many people switch. I think, personally, you're wrong in your assumption that it would be a small minority. I mean, there is no reason NOT to switch. Its not hard to do, it does only good, (and by good i mean not only in the wallet, but less rotational mass=less work for the motor) and doesnt do any harm. I dont think anyone here is faulting you for choosing to use a 630.

Oh, Dave!! If you think anyone from Z-1 or any other business has any idea of how many original 630 bikes are now using 530 chains, it is just, plain unlikely. How could that possibly be?

I don't care (and I'm sure you don't, either) but the world is HUGE and there are thousands of bike riders out there with 630 chains.....and, the vast, overwhelming majority of them have never heard of Z-1 Enterprises; the percentage who have, would be extraordinarily small.:-s To try to figure out 'switchers' based upon such limited information is meaningless.

By the way, I mean absolutely NO offense...at all!:-D (and, based on our PM's, I'm sure you know that!!)
