Just wanted to post up a few pics from my build thread.

Decals from Frank Z with Duplicolor Bumper paint. Look like new. Oh, and a little finger nail polish on the run/stop switch. Perfect match.

The GS Syndrome kicked in. Polishing the float bowls as I restore and rebuild the carbs. Inspiration for the shot comes via Steve. The penny test.

OK, which one of the 97,000 shades of "red" did you use? That looks great. :D

Looks good to me.

We really need to do something about the hazardous conditions in our work shops.
We both seem to trip while carrying aluminum parts and catch ourselves on the buffing wheel. :-\\\

.

You're telling me Steve.

I just hope OSHA doesn't show up. Ha!

I'll take a picture of the finger nail polish. Got it from Wally World.

I would show you a picture of my "Man Card" as well, but apparently I had to turn it in to buy this polish. I just saw that it's called "Heart to Heart." Hey, I love my bike.

This is the polish I used:

It just takes a really thin coat as not to clog the grooves and get all gunked up.

Thanks, will put that on the list, or at least will do that after seeing if Mrs. Steve has anything like that. She doesn't do a lot of fingernail coloring.

Those look great, I'll have to contact Frank Z soon and boy you and Steve know how to polish.

Switches look great, Cory. Nice touch with the nail polish, too.

... and MAN, those shiny bits!

Get with him Tech. They are great for a restoration of the switches. I want to be just like Steve when I grow up. :D

Thanks Frank! I was really pleased at how forgiving the decals were. They stick really well but there's just enough give to position them before full contact. They also went on without any air bubbles. Thanks for providing the service and doing the R&D on them.

This is a little before and after with my work today. Still working on it, but they are going to look pretty good when I'm finished.

wow looks awesome! i'd love to do that, but i'm soooo lazy

Thanks guys.

Steve, the body is painted with duplicolor aluminum engine enamel. Same paint I used on the motor.

I polished the small bits and the edges, taped it off then primer and paint.

Hey Good Times.

When you painted the switch's with the bumper paint, did you use that on the back's of the housing's that are metal too. If so, did it all turn out looking the same between the metal backs and plastic fronts.

I've got a set of Franks decals sitting here waiting to be put on. Just trying to decide if I want to go ahead and paint the switch's.

Sorry I missed your post yesterday.

Yes I painted the backs with the bumper paint as well and they all look uniform. That's really good stuff and very easy to paint with. I give it two thumbs up before using the decals.

Good luck.

Looks great, I need to redo my handlebar switch housings, as well.
The right switch housing is for sale on ebay for about $150.
I can buy a lifetime supply of plastic paint for that!
