A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I just put a 88 GSXR750 front master assembly on my 80 GS1k cafe to fix my old one that crapped out on me. The new one has 2 terminals on it to hook up the brake light switch leads onto. The issue I have is that I cant find where the brake light switch terminals are on the factory harness. Anyone know where it splits off the main harness so I can look there and trace the wires to find out where they are now? PO didnt have a front brake switch hooked up and I bought a banjo bolt switch when I first bought the bike I wasnt able to find the wires to plug it into then either. Your help is appreciated.

The two wires for which you search will be found in the headlight bucket.

Probably green wires with orange stripes.

.

according to my manual for a 78E it should be an orange feed and a white back to the brake light. look in your headlight bucket and see what you can find

I looked. Nothing is there. Im assuming the plugs are now tucked under the tank or the PO completely cut them out of the harness. Where could I run 2 new wires from?

have you still got a rear brake light switch? if so you could loop 2 wires of that up to the front.
