    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Out riding yesterday while exiting the freeway I applied some front brake got some front end chatter nothing very serious but annoying. Is this coming from front fork bearings or is this normal with the double front discs.
I'm rather new with motorcycle mechanics and need some info. I have already check the front forks for loseness in the front end and seems good.
My exit speed was around 50 to 55 mph and this was the first time I experienced this. What should I look for?
 
Front tyre condition!!! is it hardened at all, balanced, feathered on the tread; feathered is where the tread block is worn one side of the block compared to the other. Tyre pressure, fork oil changed? sag measurement?; sag is the difference between the "free" length of the fork and the loaded length, free length being the gap between the bottom of the triple trees and the black rubber cap over the fork seal, with the front off the ground hanging "free" minus the measurement with you on the bike in all your gear in your normal seated position.

Front tire is new mounted by PO, the rotors look good I should check the run out to make sure they are not warped., I was thinking the bike has 25,000 miles on it is it time to replace the fork bearing or what kind of life do I expect out of them.
I will check the dimension that you suggested.

for the safety of others I try not to post in the tech threads...8-[

but I have a m8 who rides his Bro's 04' ZZR and complains his Bro has the front suspension dialed in way way too hard causing a similar front end chatter to what you describe...

since I hear a few blokes accidentally pump way too much air into their front forks on the old bikes i thought it worth a mention...:shock:

Thanks m8 I'm within specs with the front fork air with charts provided in my service manual and rear spring settings.
