I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Anyone running a 110/80/19 on a 1978 GS1000, just curious of clearance issues etc. I currently have a 100/90/19 on my front lester mag and a 130/90/18 on the rear. thinking the 110/80/19 will lower the front just a touch. Any knowledge on this topic would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I don't know about the 110/80, but the 110/90 just barely fits, but is not worth the effort. :-k

The 110 width is too large for the relatively narrow rim, and will make the bike steer like a pig.

The stock size is actually closer to a 90/90, but most of us go up one size to a 100/90.

I haven't done the math, but choosing an /80 series tire is not going to lower the front end very much, if any.

OK, I just did the math. When comparing a 100/90 to a 110/80, the 110/80 is a whopping 2mm lower.

thank you for the feedback! exactly why I posted the question, I will likely go with a 100/90. what front are you running Steve?

For many years, I was running a Shinko 230 Tour Master (100/90-19). Because we had a 7000+ mile trip planned last year and did not want to change tires mid-trip, I put on Dunlop Elite 4 tires. Not available in a 17" rear, so I got a 16" rim from a GL.

100/80-19 is ONLY for a 2 50x19 rim, you're probably running the stock 1.85 rim, so it's a huge NO! As Steve stated, 100/90-19 is already 1 size up from recommend...

Steve! You should've kept a Shinko 230 front and just ran an Avon AM26 rear! Dunlop hardly makes anything resembling a sporty performance tire in bias ply sizes...

I wasn't looking for "sporty performance". I was looking for something that I would not have to change while on our anticipated 7000+ mile trip. And the Elite 4 certainly has enough grip to handle my riding style, which is more "enthusiastic" than it is "aggressive". :-\\\

The E4 rear tire is dual-compound, which helps with mileage. Goldwing riders are regularly clocking over 10,000 miles on them, I was anticipating at least that much, which would have left considerable tread by the end of our trip.
