DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

So, I am trying to get the big 1100 ready for summer. I have the V and H 4-1 and have recently purchased a dynojet kit with plans to install the stage three version. I also have a new fuel petcock to install. The last piece I am considering is Pods to replace the stock air box.
-is it worth it to pay the extra for the K and N pods?
-where have other people routed that breather tube that comes of the engine and attaches to the air box? does it need to be attached to function properly?
-anyone have pics of what the bike might look like without the stock box in there? (82 gs1100L)
-If its raining do these things drink water?

If you get pods get K&N, the cheapos suck.
The breather hose isn't critical, run it somewhere out of the way.
Most CV equipped engines never run quite perfectly without the airbox, it is an integral part of the intake system which has a large effect on regulating fuel. Very hard to tune to perfection, as opposed to the earlier VM equipped bikes, which are very simple to tune for pods.

I've never had any problem with pods in the rain, get K&N as opposed to the cheapies. Exhaust only is stage 1, you only need the stage 3 if you go with the pods.
