    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Fuel inlet needle valve seat filters?

My old filters were falling apart so I ordered new ones. The original part #13376-44080 was listed as replaced by part #13376-19F00 everywhere I looked online. What showed up does not look like it'll function right. What do you think? Original on right, new part on left http://imgur.com/a/6tjhw

I've read that some people forego these filters, which I might do to get the bike up and running but it's not preferable. Would putting in this ill-fitted one be beneficial at all?
 
The filter is supposed to snap down over the protrusion on the end of the float needle. You need to remove the old filter first. And speaking of old filter, the filter on the right doesn't look right at all. Maybe those are aftermarket float needles? I'd pry off the black ring and crude filter and see if the blue filter will snap in place on the protrusion on the float needle.
 
Is it really "ill-fitting" or does it just snap on differently? :-k

I have seen both types, they both work well. Personally, I would not forego them.

This picture shows that the filter has come apart from the plastic piece that snaps onto that protrusion on the end of the needle valve seat. http://imgur.com/unZZRUH With a light touch could I use this rtv silicone to "glue" around the edges of the filter to reattach it and reuse the old one?

RTV inside your carbs? I wouldn't...
 
I think you have OEM filter screens but aftermarket float needle seats.

I think you're right and I really don't want to spend 130 bucks for new ones :/ I'd much rather just replace the screens somehow!

Please dont use rtv in the carb.. the previous owner of my bike used it as a fuel bowl gasket and I found a chunk of it in the jet ...no wonder it was running on 1.5 cylinders... I say that because it would idle but nothing else...the other 2 cylinders points weren't even making contact... Please no rtv it will end up places you don't want
