A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Fuel Leaking from Tank overflow hose

All. I have owned a 1981 GS850GL for about a week. Long enough to change the oil and ride it about 70 miles. Over the weekend I noticed a tiny fuel leak coming out of what appears to be the tank overflow vent (rubber hose pointed down, runs from the right side of the tank, underneath the seat and is currently pointed down). The tank does not appear to be over filled, and I didn't have this problem until I moved the gas tank around and filled it up. It's showing about half a tank now and that seems odd. Might be leaking about 4 drops a minute.

Is this line line supposed to be pointed straight down?

Anyone help me with this? Thanks.

Thanks. And the line should be pointed down correct? I should also mention my petcock valve appears to function normally and it's not running off the outside of the line. Rather coming from the line internally.

Altus. Lol. But I can drive towards you sometime. I have a thousand questions. Doing a cafe build and I'm sure I'll have to rejet carbs at some point.

If its wet on the underside of the tank around the sender then thats the problem. Take off the outer cover with the 4 8MM head bolts and see if its wet in there. If the seal between the tank and the fuel sender unit is bad it will be wet there. Replace with new OEM seals.

That is exactly the problem. I can feel under there and visually inspect it and it's definitely wet. will replace! Thanks!
