A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

fuse box

Agemax

Forum Guru
anyone converted their fuse box to spade type fuses? they are more readily available here in the UK and should make for a smaller compact fuse box

Yea just finished! Very easy mod. Unbolt the fuse box pop the back off and the rest is easy.

I've seen a couple on here do it and post with pic's and details, but searching is not bringing them to the light of day currently...

Replacing my single inline glass fuse with a single inline blade fuse won't help you either...

AZR this is how I did mine changing from a single in-line fuse to the 6-fuse panel. If you have any questions just ask?

Agemax, I used a fusebox from an 82 GS1100 which is spade type.
The conversion was pretty easy and these can be had for cheap too:D

I was just looking for the mod link on "that guys" site lol

Hi,

I found this on some guy's website:

Fuse Box Upgrade
(by Mr. uudfourty)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

That's exactly what I was lookin' for BassCliff! I even looked at your site coz I knew it would be there somewhere... apparently I'm just plain blind... or having another senior moment...

Nicely done! But you may want to mount it and plug it in before trying to use it :p

that could be a good plan. just got to elongate the mounting holes a bit and it will bolt right on to the original mount holes

top mod i reckon for ?10, keeping the original plug too. still toying with fitting a new plug and brand new spade connectors, then i know all connections will be like new

Most definitely! If you can get the plugged cleaned up nice with contact cleaner it should be good, but a shiny new one is usually better. If you can get weatherproof ones, then that would be best of course...

ive got the kit to make new plug connectors, not waterproof but a squirt of silicon sealer round the tops will do the trick

Good call, something I haven't done on mine, but of course we don't get the same weather here...

Yeah that's so true, we do get sun showers quite often here, something I've always found a tad weird that... I'm sure there's some complicated weather type reason for it though...
