I talk to a guy named Bo . total jerk off .I will never order from them again ever
Funny you should mention this. :-k
Thursday, May 9, I placed an order for some gaskets. That is when we realized that my wife's bike was NOT going to Brown County, but maybe it could go with us this weekend to West Virginia. I received a confirmation of the order, it had a time stamp of 11:52 pm.
A couple of days ago, Tuesday, May 21, I called them to see if they had a status update. They said that the last of the parts had come in from the distributor on the 20th, they would be shipping out that day. I asked if I could pay some extra and have them ship the order overnight, so I could have it on Wednesday, which would give me time to get the bike back together for the weekend. They said "no problem" and proceded to find out how much extra it would be for overnight shipping.
When I got home yesterday (Wednesday), there was no package at the front door and no tag saying that I had to come pick it up at the depot. I called G&S and talked to Beau (correct spelling). I explained that I had asked, and paid for, overnight delivery and did not have the package yet, and asked for a tracking number. After checking with UPS and finding that it was not even in their system, I called Beau again. He assured me that it went out with the UPS driver that morning. THAT MORNING??? I told him that nobody mentioned that UPS had already been there for the day. The impression was given that overnight delivery would be no problem, they just did not hear the part that is was THAT night, not the next one. I had mentioned several times that I was wanting delivery on Wednesday.
Beau apologized and offered to refund most of the extra charge. We will see if the parts are there when I get home in another hour.
He mentioned that he really appreciates all the business that GSR brings his way. He also menitoned that if you want to get a little quicker service and possibly even save a bit on shipping charges, call him directly. The phone number is on their website, ask to speak to Beau, he is the general manager.
He also explained that they have to have a minimum amount before they can order from their distributors. When you call, he can check to see what the status of that minimum is. You might be the first on the list and have to wait or you might be the one that kicks it over the top so they can place the order. He will tell you that when you call. It is also that way at any other Suzuki dealer, but if you just place an order over the internet, it's merely in the queue and you will never know.
Calling your order in also saves them a little bit. The website that we use to place the order charges G&S 2% of the order as a service fee. Beau also mentioned that the owner is begrudgingly allowing the internet sales. Because the profit margin is so low, compared to over-the-counter sales. Because of that lower profit margin, Beau has been told to make checking the internet orders a lower priority. Phone calls, however, are a TOP priority, so if you call your order in, it will get processed the same day, not a day or two later, which is possible via internet.
Just a little bit of insight from behind the scenes.
Oh, I still stand behind my earlier statement:
They are still my preferred vendor.
