If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

On orders that I need right away I call the vendor and ask for email updates on when they get the parts, when they ship with tracking #'s and when I can expect a response, then follow up.

It's the squeaky wheel approach..

don't even get me started on these clowns .. it took over a month to get a fuel petcock and then when I called them up and demanded to speak to a manager he was rude I told him to go ahead and cancel my order then they told me they was going to charge me a 20 percent restocking fee on apar I never got . I talk to a guy named Bo . total jerk off .I will never order from them again ever

Funny you should mention this. :-k

Thursday, May 9, I placed an order for some gaskets. That is when we realized that my wife's bike was NOT going to Brown County, but maybe it could go with us this weekend to West Virginia. I received a confirmation of the order, it had a time stamp of 11:52 pm.

A couple of days ago, Tuesday, May 21, I called them to see if they had a status update. They said that the last of the parts had come in from the distributor on the 20th, they would be shipping out that day. I asked if I could pay some extra and have them ship the order overnight, so I could have it on Wednesday, which would give me time to get the bike back together for the weekend. They said "no problem" and proceded to find out how much extra it would be for overnight shipping.

When I got home yesterday (Wednesday), there was no package at the front door and no tag saying that I had to come pick it up at the depot. I called G&S and talked to Beau (correct spelling). I explained that I had asked, and paid for, overnight delivery and did not have the package yet, and asked for a tracking number. After checking with UPS and finding that it was not even in their system, I called Beau again. He assured me that it went out with the UPS driver that morning. THAT MORNING??? I told him that nobody mentioned that UPS had already been there for the day. The impression was given that overnight delivery would be no problem, they just did not hear the part that is was THAT night, not the next one. I had mentioned several times that I was wanting delivery on Wednesday.

Beau apologized and offered to refund most of the extra charge. We will see if the parts are there when I get home in another hour.

He mentioned that he really appreciates all the business that GSR brings his way. He also menitoned that if you want to get a little quicker service and possibly even save a bit on shipping charges, call him directly. The phone number is on their website, ask to speak to Beau, he is the general manager.

He also explained that they have to have a minimum amount before they can order from their distributors. When you call, he can check to see what the status of that minimum is. You might be the first on the list and have to wait or you might be the one that kicks it over the top so they can place the order. He will tell you that when you call. It is also that way at any other Suzuki dealer, but if you just place an order over the internet, it's merely in the queue and you will never know.

Calling your order in also saves them a little bit. The website that we use to place the order charges G&S 2% of the order as a service fee. Beau also mentioned that the owner is begrudgingly allowing the internet sales. Because the profit margin is so low, compared to over-the-counter sales. Because of that lower profit margin, Beau has been told to make checking the internet orders a lower priority. Phone calls, however, are a TOP priority, so if you call your order in, it will get processed the same day, not a day or two later, which is possible via internet.

Just a little bit of insight from behind the scenes. :o

Oh, I still stand behind my earlier statement:
They are still my preferred vendor.

.

They used to always have my stuff to me by the end of the week.
Always an email about shipping or any possible delays....

I'm not real impressed with them this time. Ordered a bunch of stuff for the 550/650 two weeks ago, no email about shipping. I called, they said they were waiting on the exhaust gaskets, everything else was there. I don't need the gaskets for a long time, so I asked if they could ship the rest of it, he said yes we can do that. Now three days later, still no shipping email.
May is slipping away and still have done no real riding on the 550....

Not happy with G & S Suzuki

Not happy with G & S Suzuki

Placed an order with G&S Suzuki around a month ago. Person I spoke with was placing an order that day and to place my order so he could add it which I did. 4 weeks later I called about my order and the guy said the parts were in and it would ship that day. Of course in my mind I'm thinking if I had called two weeks ago would I have been told the same thing. Anyway another week has gone by and no parts. I obviously will not be ordering from G & S Suzuki again.

after reading this thread......after I placed my order (online) I called today and I was told my parts came in yesterday and they were shipped today. I asked if they were sent usps of ups. He said via usps so well see if they show up in a few days. should be at my house by next tuesday or wednesday. So well see and I will let you guys know.

Good luck with that.

I know, I am the eternal optimist. The bike will run someday, that bolt will come out. na it wont shear, etc. otherwise your will drive yourself crazy. When I talked to the guy he sounded to me like he had seen my stuff so I think I will give them a call again tomorrow and see if they have a tracking number. Cant hurt.

Well my optimism has wained. I just called G&S again and this time I was told the my intakes were not in yet and were being shipped from another warehouse. I told the guy on the phone that last week I was told that they had come in and were in the mail. So I have been checking and waiting for a tracking number. So number yet. parts monster since my friend uses them and always gets his stuff quickly. The guy there looked them up and called the parts warehouse and was told they are on back order. He said that that usually means they will not be getting the part in and it will/should show discontinued. The bike is 23 years old after all. I have to agree with the others that you should not order from G&S. There is absolutely no reason to miss lead customers. Sorry Steve, you must be the exception. These guys suck.

If I need a part now-1 week, I go to my local Suzuki dealer and order it.

Z1 is great, don't think I will use GS.

Got an email 4 days ago from g&s with a tracking number. USPS says my intakes have been delivered so well see what's in the box when I get home tomorrow. Hopefully I will finally have my stuff 1 month after I ordered it

I ordered a petcock and a couple other things on 8/2, got an email that they shipped 8/9 with a tracking number, arrived 8/15 so 2 weeks total, I can wait a bit to save $30...Just wish I hadn't bought the K&L petcock repair kit previously. Anyone want a rebuilt petcock real cheap?
No complaints! Carb boots next spare $$....
