DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

i have an 81 450 does anyone know if the tank and side pannles from a 750 will fit

the short answer is likely "no" they won't. not just a snap em in and bolt it down type thing.

the long answer is- anything will fit anywhere, its just a matter of how bad you want it to happen. thats what customization is all about at the core of it. read the "650 top end on a 550 block" stuff from nerobro and skreemer, it illustrates my point.

if you want to fabricated mounting points, and have the patience to do it right I imagine you could put any bodywork on it you wanted. be best if you could try a few different pieces on for size before you laid your money down. bike graveyards are usually good for this, just explain what youre trying to do and theyll generally help out.

thanks for the info your bike looks sharp were did you get your 1/4 ferring your grips and your mirrors is that the original collor i would like to paint my bike black i cant figure out how to put pics of it on the thread im no computer wiz can anyone give me instructions id like some opinions on it . my uncle gave it to me, he was the original owner it only has 20,000 miles on it

thanks for the compliments, Im proud of her, but have bigger plans yet for its overall appearance.

the quarter fairing is from KK cycle supply, its sold various places but I got mine at the dealership, I think its around 60 bucks. its called the "viper"

mirrors are original equipment, Id like something sportier, but these are rubber damped, and work really well. saved me a speeding ticket already :)

my paint is original , there are many small flaws, its dark blue currently, thinking of how to best repaint it, might try to approximate an S model, gotta find the Wes Cooley fairing.

thanks for the info on the ferring unfortunitly my bike is in tho shop right now think there is some top end damage from o stuck valve but hopefully ill have it back soon other than that its in good cond. only 20000 miles on it but i would like to get the ferring to keep the wind blast down a bit does it work well for this

it has about the same protection as a chest protecter, it just keeps some of the rocks and bugs off ya. if you tuck behind it it does help some, but its almost the same as no fairing at all.

I like it because it shades my gauges a bit, and cleans up the look of the bike. its been fitted better than that pic in my sig, that was a mock up. Ill post some better shots if sunday isnt all rainy here.

I also had to notch the fairing a bit to get it to clear the master cylinder, and gauge cluster, and am working on upper mounts, just gotta find the right type of connection.

IMO it doesnt work out unless you go to a superbike bar, or lower. they make the larger "squared off" style with a little more shield but it doesnt have the same appeal to me. I had one on a CB550 and it did protect a bit better.
