A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

The views expressed in this forum are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of "The GSResources" or the editors.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I've been quite happy for the last two years with Dairyland/Sentry -- about $70/year for liability only on my two old shafties.

The few times I've had a question, they were professional and prompt.
Bwringer,
thanks for the heads up, I am now insured with them.
-73.46 (242.04 Vs. 168.58) less than my current insurer and very nice people to deal with.

I ended up going with progressive to insure my KZ550. I am a first time rider with one incident on my auto driving record in the past 3 yrs. Full coverage was 198.00 per year. I went with 100k/300k liability limits,$2500 medical payment, $250 deductible for comp and collision. The difference between liability and full coverage was only $30 so I figured what the hell. I checked on a quote for the GS750, similiar limits but because of multi vehicle discount, safety course discount..etc it was $183 per year. Liability only was $136.
When I checked on Geico it was about 800 dollars a year.

I've had Geico for myself for 12 years, and on my son fir the last few years since he's been driving. Full coverage on my truck, liability on his 94 Bronco, house insurance thru them with travellers, and now mc insurance for 2 bikes. Thru the years, they
ve paid claims when my car was stolen and almost totalled, when my son totalled his pickup trying to avoid a deer, when my Mercedes was totalled and my rates are still lower than most. With a 20 year old on the policy, its gonna be expensive no matter who, but I've never had a problem or an issue with them.
I still sheck once ayear with that online comparison thing thru Progressive and the same coverage is still a deal thru Geico.

I insured the bike with Geico, for a good price. minimal coverage, as I always do. I paid the year in advance, as I also prefer to do.

However, I found out this week they practice a form of extortion. They added full coverage to my policy, and mailed me an opt out form in with all the other policy crap, then charged me for the difference when they did not get the form back opting out of the added coverages.

So they canceled the policy for non payment of coverages I never requested in the first place.

Go with someone else, a few dollars cheaper ain't worth it.

I don't know how you could call them cheap. They wanted three times what Markel wanted for less coverage on the bike...and double what Nationwide wants for the car and truck for the same coverage.
