A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Love those carbs, and I think you just helped me identify that extra rack I have kicking around. Exactly the same as yours, thanks.

Got lazy in my last post. Here a pics of the progress of the 4>1:
2010_06300007.jpg

This is what it originally looked like. About 1/3 flattened.
2010_07010008.jpg

Painted it anyway.
2010_07020006.jpg

Looked OK but it was not really a great way for it to be.
Enter this thread http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum/showthread.php?t=165772 Great a way to fix it!
Got the tool from Gstexas:

And used it as soon as I got it home:

Then cleaned up some of the scars with a file.
2011_01210003.jpg

Painted it yesterday.
2011_01210002.jpg

Nice and round again!

That made a huge difference! As you say, not perfect, but it's the underside so who cares? As long as it flows lots of gas that's all that matters.

^^^Did that yesterday.Sorted out some wiring stuff I wanted to get done:
2011_01210011.jpg

Not the best pic.You can just make out the new ground to the Reg/Rec under the bolt.
2011_01210009.jpg

Goes up to a battery ground.New ground to the frame while I was at it.
I was looking at the stator wires thinking of running them to the stock connectors up here:
2011_01210007.jpg

Then I realized if I ran them straight back the reached the R/R without 3 or4 extra feet of wire and connectors between them.So I did:
2011_01210005.jpg

Since taped them up and buried the old wires:eek:.Why Suzuki did that is beyond me .

Test firing a little ways off, probably closer than I think though.Do have another change in the color though. My wife wanted her bike purple.I said if you can spray it you can do that.We looked though BOM and gallery pics and the color that caught her eye was the Champagne on the 1100's.The more we looked a cars in this color the more we like the Chrysler Champagne metallic. Was not really wanting to do red again so this idea has grown on me!
These are the inspiration for this choice:

Hahaha mate if you don't that means you will have hit a major hurdle and I don't wanna see that happen!

So, does this mean you tore yourself away from the forums for a bit today? Did you cope ok with the withdrawal symptoms? :p

OMG managed to do a little more today:D;
2011_02010001.jpg

Got the rear on.Nice to be able to move it on it's own wheels!Yes I pumped up the tires,0 PSI in the front:eek:
2011_02010003.jpg

No where near finished but a big milestone non the less.

Awesome!!! Doesn't that just make you feel so good? I remember how it was for me the first time I could wheel it, and I didn't even have an engine in it!

Definitely making progress now :D:clap::dancing:

It was sure nice to see the wheels on my husband's bike. To tell the truth I was beginning to think that he would never get them back on. Every time he went to work on his bike he would find something else that needed to be painted and baked in the oven. It is sure a good thing that I don't mind him baking the parts in the oven, I know that a lot of wives would freak out about it for sure! Can hardly wait until he starts sanding down the rest of the bike and paints it. I know that when it comes time to sand the big parts ie. the tank that he is going to expect me to help him. That's what wives are for I guess.:p

It's great to see you supporting him :D

My wife has no interest whatsoever (and that's not a go at her either, just the facts), but she has indicated that she'll probably jump on the back with me once it's done and I have my confidence back, which would be grand.

I did manage to avoid the baking in the oven by using an old BBQ... worked like a charm and no stink in the house :dancing:

Actually I'm using the tank my buddy Aaron gave me.It needs to stripped as the PO built up a lot of paint on it..The plastic sanding will be done with power tools so I think you should be safe my dear.;)

I am glad that the rest of the sanding will be done with power tools. When he wet sanded the swing arm he did it in the bathtub, which was a little messy. But of course being the loving wife I am I really didn't mind it at all. I guess that I am quite a bit different from other wives in that respect!

2011_02040003.jpg

Got a little more done.
2011_02040004.jpg

Got ot tke off the frame around the headlight and paint that."But nobody will see that Greg"you say.Well I'll know so I will do it:D

Looking good. I hadn't noticed the striping on the frame before, nice touch.

Looking good!:) When do you figure she will be ready for the first ride? I like the detail work you have done. You arent going to want to ride it in the rain/wet. I had mine all polished up at the end of summer, now it is all dirty and needs a good cleaning:o I am going to wait until it starts getting warmer/less wet before I clean her up again.

A thing I pick up at Kustom Kulture Longe.A guy had done ghost striping on a tank(Harley Sportster) thought that might be cool on the frame. My first attempt and it shows:(
