DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Found out the fairing is not ABS.Silvered up part of the spare one and put it in acetone to make a slurry. After a week it did nothing. So taking some advice from a friend I tried plastic welding. The holes in it where small so I poured off the acetone from my slurry attempt and used a soldering iron to melt the slivers. It worked great!

It was really nice to hear from my friend today.Seems he traded his 84 GS750E for a ratty RZ350,to give the guy a better bike. This guy and his father have a spray booth set up.As I'm the guy with 83 750 parts in the area I think I can swing a deal to get access to the booth. That would be really nice!

That sounds like it would be an excellent deal! Parts for time at a booth... that would be very handy indeed!

Now your gettin' somewhere!

Is that a well used cat scratching pole I see on the left?

Nice looking plastics! I do like the look of the fully faired 750's, they're sweet. Are you gonna paint the mesh the same champagne color as the body?

Nice progress and of course love the pics!

Yes Pete it's very used post,3 cats.
Tim Tom,think the mesh will be satin black.
Thanks Hoosier,Its's just primer buy it's getting there:D

Only 3? I won't tell you how many for me... everyone will think I'm the crazy cat lady from the Simpsons...

Got a score today

Here's the 550 I told you about a while back.He has the covers BTW.The RZ350 behind it is a long term project.Pretty rough,it's been modded with what he thinks are FZ conventional forks and wheels. We got it running but it's not right. Some PO put a non stock carb set up on it.For some reason I still want it:confused:He traded the guy with the spray booth his 84 GS750E for the RZ so he'd have a better bike.BTW I meet him,Asked if I could use the booth.I can:clap:Sounds great. It's huge, about the size of a 3 car garage.busy getting the bodywork ready

Access to a spray booth! You're all set now, there'll be no stopping you :D

And the RZ... well I can understand that. I really wouldn't mind getting an old stroker myself once the 450 is done... ringa ding ding...

Not much to report.Refining the primer coats to get rid of imperfections. Will wet sand most of the spot filling primer off then finish with a primer/sealer.Paint is a possibility this weekend. If I don't get it done now I'm not going to be able to for 2 weeks.

Mate I got my fingers and toes crossed for you! Can't wait to see what colour you choose and how those plastics look all painted up :D

I am NOT a painter but I wonder if it is wise to wet sand the spot filler? I though fillers were porus and sucked in the water. Also I figured wet sanding may give it too smooth a surface for the paint to stick, best use a 220 or 400 dry on the filler.
Like I said, I am no Pro by any stretch of the term when it comes to painting...
