    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

  • In order to help others find info on a particular bike, be sure to put the year, make or model of bike that you are asking a question about, in the Topic Title. This will allow people to pass by posts they have no interest in.

Up for auction is a fully rebuilt/restored Z1-A Kawasaki due to be completed in March with delivery approximately end of April 2014

The photo's are file images of recently completed Z1900's both 73 and 74 models

This will be a chassis-up build of a 1974 Kawasaki Z1-A using new parts and a fully rebuilt zero timed engine. New paintwork and wheels tires etc...

In November, four guys from the tauranga area stopped here on their way to the Burt Munro. One was riding a just completed Crosby built Z1.

By the 3rd day of the trip (at my place) it obviously needed the points resetting and the camchain tensioner adjusting plus there was an exhaust leak.

I wasn't game to ask what it cost....but I heard on friday that the figure in the ad of around $25 grand is close.....

The one I saw was absolute bone stock - even down to the tyres which are apparently being remade in japan. Not my cup of tea, I'd fit a dyna as an absolute minimum.
 
So he is a way better rider than a builder, Wonder how much he really does on building the bike. Starting to sound like Harleys, Twice the price there really worth.

I couldn't fault the build,Sharpy, but i suspect the quality of the parts available....back in the day as i remember it, the points would go for ever without adjustment so I suspect one set had a soft heel...
I'm told they did a service on it when they stopped the next night but they had to live with the exhaust leak until they got home and could replace gaskets.
