    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi,

This bike is a two valve I think, just bought it. It says tscc on the sides, I thought that would be for the four valve, is it possible that this bike is a four valve?

Ive got the carbs apart, I am accustomed to the yamaha 11 late model carbs, and these zuki carbs look like the old model yam carbs.

I am curious as to the jet sizes, my old eyes cant read the ones I have at all, but it appears that the intake bell air jets are 170 and the book says they are 120, the book also gives me bizarre numbers compared to the yam 11, which should be roughly comparable in air flow. Can anyone tell me what size the pilots are sposed to be, as well as the mains in this bike. My zuki E book says the mains are sposed to be 107.5 s and the pilots are to be 45 s. My bike has pods, and very shorty mufflers with stock headers. If anyone has a recomendation on jet sizes, or better yet the known stock sizes to go from I would appreciate it. I do have a set of 110 jets leftover from the yam, since there is supposedly an air flow increase, maybe they would work better than the 107 a if thats what is stock. This bike did have the caps off of the pilot fuel mixture screws sitting near the throttle plates, so it should be assumed that its been molested at one time or another.

I have rebuild kits coming from georgefix of ebay. I know you listers arent much on putting in new jets at all. Ive saved all my old stuff just in case, I cant get the number one air pilot out, but the others are out ok, and the number one is showing spray thru its dedicated holes. Georgefix sent me K n L kits before and they worked great, although some people seem to say they are less than the best. He provided the yami rebuild kits used on the yam and they were fine, but that bike is close to stock allover.

Also, my service manual book, is the zuki book for the E models, I have a clymer, but its useless for carbs. What separates the GL model, I believe that its the GLZ,, actually ,,if there is such a thing, the po told me that.

Is there a website that you can plug he vin s into that gives the exact models, by the way, the zuki site doesnt work that Ive tried. Also, does this list have an area where owners bikes are pictured in a big list?

Hi Mr. banditom,

The "Z" in "GLZ" refers to the model year 1982. All the GS shaft driven bikes are 2 valves per cyliner. Check out all the links in your "mega-welcome" for answers to questions you might not have even thought of yet. ;)

I think the normal recommendation for pipes and pods is three or four sizes up on the main jets and one size on the pilot jets. Then shim the jet needles to raise them up a smidge.


Anyway, I just stopped by to welcome you to the forum in my own, special way.
