I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Both the Headlight & the Tail/Stop warning lights on my instrument cluster come on intermitently. The headlight warning light will come on only if the high beam is on. Switch to low beam & warning goes off. Switch back to high beam & after apprx. 45 sec. warning will come back on. While warning is on, pull in clutch, rpm drops below 2000 & light goes out. rev the engine a little & light reappears. Some days, may ride all day with no warnings. Some days, both stay on most all the time, sometimes it's one and not the other. Reving the engine doesn't affect the Tail/ Stop warning. I've checked all conections, especially the grounds, but have found nothing. Have tried to wiggle wires & connectors to make the warnings come on if off, or go off if on, but can't make anything happen. I have watched on bumpy roads to see if they seem to come on or blink as the bike hits bumps, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Riding on rough or very smooth roads, The warning lights work exactly the same. Any Ideas, I'm willing to try anything. Everything else works perfectly

I had the exact same problem as you, but got frustrated trying to find out what was going wrong so instead of fixing it I decided that that many warning lights were unnecessary and I pulled all the bulbs out except for the neutral, high beam and oil light. It's much less distracting now.
Sorry I couldn't help I hope someone can help us.

I had that problem on my old 1150. It was caused by the plastic that holds all the instruments/lights in place was cracked and the wires kept shorting out. Well after a few hours and a whole lot of epoxy they worked fine.

This may not be your answer but it could be something to check.

Sorry Hank, I'm not sure of the part you mean. Do you mean the actual housing that I'm looking at while riding down th road? or an inside part of the instrument pod? Was the crack big enough to easily see, or was it something tiny, that would be pretty hard to see? Thanks for the help!!!!!! Rick

It was actually inside. The peice that holds it all together and the cracks were big enough to see.

My bike is doing the same thing. I've just been keeping a close eye and ear on things because I figured there was something wrong with the wiring.

Thanks Hank.

Hank-I decided to keep the old bars off my bike.

Ha, ha, ha - finally somebody is writing about this annoying problem!
I tried to find a clue for almost 2 years - finally during some carbs cleaning I started wiggling my monitor unit and warning lights started coming on and off. I have 2 of these units and a better one shows only 1 light - tail lamp, and only after 1/2 h of driving.
I decided to install it on the bike and start working on the other. I believe its only bad connection between the wires - but I have to check it out.

Thats OK Dave, we are going to the bone yard that is 2 hours from here next month to scour his collection. Apperently he has an 84E there that has most of its parts still on it. Going to take the truck and maybe bring the whole thing back. Would much rather ride but it is real hard to drag another 1150 behind me. 8O
