Hi,
I just bought a 1980 GS450S with about 2500 miles on it that had been sitting in a garage for several years. The previous owner said it needs a new starter. Upon putting a battery in it and trying it, I can hear the starter spinning but the engine doesn't turn over. I did a search and found this to mean that the starter clutch is bad.
My two questions:
1. I've determined that I need to get the carbs and airbox off to get to the starter compartment. How does one remove the airbox?
I can't see where there's room to get it out.
2. Can I just buy a new starter, or is the starter clutch a separate part that I would have to get separately?
Thanks!
Richard
