Okay did a little research and here is what I found for AGM Battery Replacements.

http://www.impactbattery.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=YB10L-A2+

My choice is the MotoBatt

http://www.impactbattery.com/motobatt-mb10u.html

You get 15CCA more than stock oem replacement.
and the MotoBatt has a 14aH batt life vs the 10aH of the stock or the other AGM.

I am going to look around and find out if I can get it locally or not for the same price.

Comments as always welcomed.

Paul

I have heard *lots* of good things about MotoBatt... and when my cheapy eBay special dies I'll be revisiting this whole thing and either going a Shorai or a MotoBatt I reckon.

Well went into the local parts store and they deal in MotoBatt. They did not have mine in stock so I ordered one. It is twice as much as the OEM one but half the price of the Shorai. Size wise it is the same as the OEM. So I will have to blast and paint my battery box this weekend hopefully.

While I was there I did manage to get my two remaining shims. Thursday night I will be going over to Adam's house and we will put in the two shims and put in the exhaust gaskets. I still have not been down to the garage to check on my carb gaskets. Got home and had to take the dogs out so I am currently getting dinner ready. More to come later.

Paul

Well since my well intended to do list never come to completion when I state the nice large ones, going to keep this one short.

Today after work hope to get the exhaust gaskets installed. The two shims I needed to replace done and to tap out the paint or what we hope is paint or media grit from three holes in the valve cover, then finish bolting in the engine. I needed to get a couple more replacement bolts.

Modest to do list see if we can get it done tonight.

Last night I managed to get the Carbs put mostly back together before I was called away for bed time stories and tucking in momma, at which point I went to sleep also.

Though I will have to confess my ignorance, I failed to document how many turns the pilot screw went in and the other screw on the bowl side that was suppose to be marked. That just means I will have to be patient when tuning in the carbs later.

Cheers,

Paul

Well got over and for once accomplished all that I set out to do.

Intake boots cleaned and new orings installed

Now i am trying to figure out what this hole is for

Tomorrow finish putting together carbs and install them. Install air box and maybe foot pegs. Going to have the tire put on the back wheel and turn around the one on the front wheel.

Then It will be time to figure out the electronics.

Paul

Nice work Paul! Feels good to have a plan and get it done don't it? :D

Can't help with your mystery hole though...

Yeah I found that out after I posted. Started thinking what a dummy, look at the fiche.... I was having a moment I guess. I have been around long enough I knew where to look those kind of things up. OH well. Took the dogs for a walk going to eat some breakfast and move on to getting everything ready to take over to Adam's place. I will post some pictures later.

That's ok, you're allowed a senior moment or two here and there :p

Okay so went over to adams and we cleaned up the footpegs and installed them and the brake pedal. Then realized that I was missing parts to get the carbs together and mounted. So that would have to wait here are the footpegs installed.

IMG_0367.jpg

So I go home get find all the parts I am missing. Saturday night and Sunday become all about Pnut. (Yes she has me wrapped around her little finger, just ask her mom) This morning I bring everything up and finish getting it all put together. That is when I notice something

Which one is not like the other one
IMG_0368.jpg

Now I do have all the cross connections installed but three out of 4 have the vent ports coming out. When I tried to compare them to the other rack of carbs I have, those were completely different also. So I am completely confused. Some Help would be appreciated.

Here is a close up of the carb in question and of between two of the other ones.

Help!!!!

Paul

And I am turning 40 on the 29 and senior moments seem to be a way of life. Makes me really nervous to know how I will be at 70.

Can't help with your carbs Paul but good work on the footpegs (progress is always good right?).

I can identify with the senior moments... will only be 39 this year though...

Well if you followed my saga on Monday in the Carb section, the final synopsus was I don't have a #3 Carb installed. I have (2) #2 carbs in the #1 and #2 Positions and a #1 carb in the Three position. At least the #4 carb is right.

Have the #3 carb from the other rack soaking in Pinesol right now. Hopefullly I will get to it tomorrow. Tonight I have fighter practice and I think I need to blow off a little steam. Time to suit up and whack people with sticks.

Paul

Well considering I have only been in armor three times in the last month due to my work schedule I did not do too bad. Think I got whacked more than I did any whacking last night. I had a great time blew off some steam and I am ready to get back at some things. This morning I installed a new Graphics card in the Computer, a GTX550 Ti, so now my wife can play Star Wars The Old Republic. I took the #3 Carb body out of the pinesol. It cleaned up nicely. Primed and painted and currently sitting in the oven so that I can work with it tonight and get the carbs put back together, in the right order, with all the pieces. I am going to try and get everything short of the rear sprocke on the back tire today so that it can go back on the bike this weekend. Around 5pm going to give my contact for PC a call and see if I can get the Handle bars in. If not think I am going to try and see if I can sneak into the Paint booth tonight.

Also gots some goodies in the mail today. Recieved my fuse box and R/R leads from Eastern Beaver. YaY.

Progress is progress even after a set back.
