A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

I tried searching but couldn't get an answer. I have a square headlight (puke) 16 valve GSX and would like to know if it is straightforward to change the bike back to round headlight and early eight valve tank, seat and tail section configuration?

probably not that easy considering that most of the mounting tabs for the gs and gsx range bodywork were all individual to the model concerned even though the general frame layout and construction were quite similar .

would it not make sense to find a rolling chassis for a gs thou and transplant the 16 valver into it (why i dont know)

as for the'' square headlight (puke)'' thing.....i think we should burn the heretic :D:D

The lights and gauges are easy, the early tank won't fit on the later frame, as the frame is too wide. Seats mount differently, too.

Anything can be done if your fabrication skills are good enough.

Ok thanks pretty simple question I thought. I have a GSX and I personally hate the square headlight so I want to change it back to round, not sure I need to be burned at the stake for that!!!! Unlike the good ol US and A GS's in Australia are hard to find and bloody expensive whereas the GSX isn't. Why ? I have no freakin idea. I just thought that if it wasn't too hard I would like to change them but as I can't I will persist with what I have.
