A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Does anyone know of a reliable shop or mechanic near
Hartford, CT? I would be willing to go up in to Mass
or even Rhode Island or New York...

Thanks in advance

Right now I am dealing with a guy in Mahopac, NY. Scotty's. NOT a stealer, but will tell you of the stealer he worked for...My bike is there now... I am going there tomorrow to check on his progress...says he's busy...
I'll keep you posted on how it goes. You can google his name to find the address, phone #, etc... He's "supposed" to be the best...I'm keepin my fingers crossed!!
Hartford is about an hour to an hour and a half (depending on how you drive ;) to there....

Oh, cripes... lol...well, started out with the carbs...just the final tuning.. I ran out of patience!!! And, didnt want to spend all my time getting p!ssed off because I couldnt get it "just right"....Scotty saw a couple of "little" things...they better not add up to BIG things...Thats why I keep a close eye on what's going on...:-D
I'll fill you in tomorrow how it goes...I'm pretty darn picky about things, so what may seem like a big deal to me, may not to you...
I read your threads.....understand your frustration...that's why I said to heck with it...I dont have a lot of time on my hands....or it rains, or too darn hot...etc....

I look forward to reading how it went. If anyone else has somebody they
can back... let us know!

Good news!!

Good news!!

OK, went to Scotty's today, and I couldnt believe it...he had the bike running!! He picked it up late last Thursday, and then with the holiday weekend...I am soooo happy!! BUT, the problem is a flat spot on the rev...He says he's going to try and fix it tomorrow, but it looks like I may have it back by next week!!!! WOO-HOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
I told him about your bike and the carb trouble..says he's busy, but that he can fit you in. Give him a call. I am sure you'll have to ride it down, though. BUt, he got it done a H3LL of lot more faster then the dang stealer!! They took over 3 weeks, broke a number of things, denied it, and charged me $260 bucks, and didnt get the bike running!! I am supposed to call him back on Tuesday, and I'm *hoping* thats when I can pick it up.
Good luck on your project :-D

Speedzter2000,

Nice to hear it! You are almost there. Did he say what was causing
your trouble or why there's a flat spot? I am going to try a couple
more things on my own to learn a bit more. I could swear I see an
inline fuel filter coming off the petcock... if so, peace out!

Tony
