A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Mt. Sterling, KY

Mt. Sterling, KY

I saw a GS 650GL in Mt. Sterling tonight. Badges removed and an older custom paint job on the tank. Parked on a purpose built pad on the front yard of a house on Main Street. Reved up my engine and blew the horn but nobody came to the door. Bike looked just a little neglected but overall in good shape, good tires, two different styles of mirrors. Too bad it's not covered.

Saw a total beater '80 GS850 in Beatrice Nebraska today. Tank half-painted, different colored side panels, plastic milk carton holder on the back, ripped up seat. Guy was wearing old brown Carhart coveralls, workboots, and a pair of sunglasses under a black 3/4 helmet.

I almost stopped to talk to him, but got scared and kept driving.

78ish blue GS750? Whitten and I40 broke down on the median. I would have stopped to help, but someone beat me to it. Second time I went by bike was gone so I guess he fixed it? Might have just been out of fuel.

No way it was broken...Had to be fuel...:-D

I saw a lady riding a sweet looking GS 550E today. Her boyfriend was on this sweet OC Choppers-style bobber. I pulled up next to them at a stoplight and gave her a "Nice GS!" holler. Her bike looked almost exactly like this:

No sighting, but pretty cool moment today. While sitting at a stop light, I heard a conversation going on in the car next to me. One person in the car knew that I had a GS and even told his friends that he wants one. I gave him a quick glance, smiled, and he responded with 'awesome bike' \\:D/

I was looking for my dog this morning, and after asking this dude if he'd seen her, he commented on my bike.

"Classic ride!"

Felt nice.

Was riding today and saw a group of older bikes. Damned if one (at least) wasn't a gs. Looked like around the 550 size. Got a slightly confused nod back.

Anyone else here from edmonton?

I saw what appeared to be a nice GS1000 this morning in Memphis on my way to work. It was headed up Farm Rd from Walnut Grove. I got a pretty decent look since I was stuck in traffic.
Todd.

Any of you turkeys see a GS1000 in my neck of the woods, bet yer arse it's me.

Same here.
I may be the only person in Memphis that has two GS's that run.
This may be the first time anyone has owned up to being spotted.

I do have mine running now. It's not really driveable yet... no front brakes. My m/c was too far gone to rebuild but I've got a new one on order along with all the stuff to rebuild my forks. I have driven it around the neighborhood, though. My parts bike is complete enough, that I'm going to try and get it going again at some point.
Todd.

Hey Todd, no "dis" intended to you! I know your bike runs.
(You are going to have it ready for Brown County next year right?;))

I was only pointing out that the only GS's you find around here are usually dead.

Btw, this idiot that you saw this morning.
Was He wearing a blue and white jacket? White helmet? Loud 4 into 1? :-k
